Warning messages - true or false
So 6 weeks ago I apparently had a dying chassis http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1165713
I decided to wait until I saw the warning again but it didn't come back and so put it down to over eager software and actually quite glad I "overruled" it. However I think I might have to heed this warning 'cos I've seen it 3 mornings on the trot. Trouble is you tend to be a bit "yeah, right, whatever" when the previous warning was bollox. The boy who cried wolf etc I'm surprised though that in a modern car I have to find a milk bottle and top up the rad!! All a bit 70s I'd say.

I'd not dismiss a low coolant warning out of hand. I'd check under the bonnet.
I suspect the level warning is triggered by a low level float switch. if it needs a top up, sort it once but if it reocurrs then you really need to work out why it is happening. loose hose clip? split hose? |

Have you read the story on the main news page about the guy who's M3 ending blew up?
http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1159393 He got exactly the same error message just before it let go. Speak to your dealer!

Others, thanks, I'm pleased it's not just me who thinks it's unusual to have to do this kind of thing on a BMW in 2015!!!

That happened to me on my last 330d f31, thought it was odd. I called and spoken to receptionist (female) who told me to ignor it and carry on with my 200 mile trip the following day. Thought bull shit myself so I taken it to the service department that day, turned out the clip under the cooling bottle had come loose and released the coolant. Complained about the duff info I was given |

Had the same warning after about 10k miles in my F30 328i (2012 car).
took it into dealer and they confirmed a level sensor fault that required replacement. No problems after that thankfully....

Still can't believe I had to do it. Must be something more to it, I'll keep a close eye on it.
