Canadian pricing confirmed

Just got back from my local dealer and was told by the sale manager that the GTS will cost $160k. No options just taxes etc. Apparently only 50 coming to Canada.

Well, that ain't bad at all, considering that we about 10% of the US population and the US is getting 300.

I wonder if those 50 are include in the "300 for the US" or part of the 400 for "the rest of the world".

Hey, what is current exchange rates $Ca/$US?

I believe $Ca got beat up in relation to $Us in the last 6mo. Is that not still the case?

If so, perhaps the price will be lower than expected for the USA. Wishful thinking.

M4 canadian MSRP in CAD is 16.8% greater than US MSRP in USD. Using that ratio, M4 GTS should be $137k USD in the US. It is not a true apples-to-apples comparison because standard items differ between Canada and the US, but is gives an idea.

The 50 coming to Canada according to dealer is from the 300. Which technically makes it 300 cars to North America.

Someone told me (I hate starting comments with anecdotal statements) that Canada was the best market in the world for BMW M cars on a per capita basis. That is, for our population, more M cars are sold here than anywhere and, because of that, Canada gets certain preferences. Maybe this explains the 50 out of 300? Assuming what I was told is true.

That statement is correct and comes directly from the marketing director of BMW Canada. That is why we get to do these BMW M European tours that I was lucky to be apart of this year.

I read something similar in the letter that was attached to that gift we received last year that included a small book, USB stick with promo videos and that neet ///M paper weight in a nice but fake CF enclosure.

IIRC, it mentioned that Canada is the country that has the highest percentage of ///M vehicles sold relative to total BMW sales.

Your dealer is Parkview right? We can all have a gta bimmerpost mini meet when you take delivery. I can't be the only one who wants to check this beast out in person

I believe ON and BC will get most of the allocation. Calgary is only getting 2. Maritime provinces may not get any same with MB and SK. This is according to the sales rep.

Getting information on this car out of BMW is a joke.Trying to find out anything was very frustrating and really showed me that BMW Canada is really clueless about the needs & desires of an enthusiast. My dealer was also very frustrated at the lack of information available when they placed a GTS video on their own Facebook page.

They are probably part of the 400 for RoW. I'm basing this on other examples. 20 examples of the M5 30 Jahre were not part of the 30 US cars. 40 examples of E92 M3 Frozen Edition were not part of the 150 US cars.
