My 2011 335i xDrive came with square style 284 rims (17x8 ET34) with 225/45R17 tires. I was thinking of going with 18" rims and ditching the run flats while adding a spare kit in the trunk.
What do you think of the style 400M rims on an E90? This is the 18" rim the F30 uses with their M Sport package, although the tires are just slightly larger on the F30 than the E90 if I've got my facts right. I would run square (18x8 ET34). Do you think I could fit 235/40R18 on these wheels (no spacers)?

yes. 235/40 will fit an 18x8 without issue. i run that size on my 8.5 rims and just picked up the same size tires for my winter 18x8
