New GTC-AFF1 wheels on my 228i!

Hi all,

Decided to change the wheels on my F22, ended up choosing the 18inch GTC-AFF1 flow formed wheels which are significantly lighter than the original 461m's. I've wrapped them with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres with the factory m235i sizes 225/40 and 245/35 ( I fitted and balanced the wheels myself ).

Likewise with my old e92, changing the run-flat tyres made a huge difference in ride comfort and road noise, I would definitely recommend to any other 220/228 owners if you are capable of doing a temporary puncture repair in the event you ever get one. Extremely happy with the results, here are some pictures !

Thanks to Stu@BMR for supplying the wheels !!

They look somewhat familiar

Looks great in silver, personally I would've gone gunmetal grey.

Lmao Jeff, you probably saw my wheels before I saw them. I prefer silver because I like the lighter colours.. time for some coilovers now

Thanks Shane, nah didn't get a chance to weigh them up.. got way to excited and literally started mounting the tyres on them. By hand they feel a lot lighter than stock

Nice wheels Vince! Are you able to use your contacts to find a suitable space saver wheel and tyre for the F22? I know there are lots of threads on space saver but IIRC nothing conclusive on F22

Yeah I have a stock 235i muffler on there on at the moment, the M Performance 235i exhaust will be on there shortly

Cheers Donald, I have actually explored that avenue before and unfortunately there are not many space savers in 5x120, space savers can only be bought as one unit (You cannot buy the tyre and the wheel separate) However I have come across a thread where an M235i successfully used a 135 e82 space saver (It cleared the M-Sport brakes). Here is the space saver that will fit our cars with no issues
