228i/220i Engine Front struts mystery

Hi guys, just noticed while looking at the engine bay pictures, some F22 come with a pair of strut bar from front wheel tower to the radiator section, where as some don't have it.

May I know if this is an optional item, and if it can be purchased?

I'm thinking that they couldn't hurt if you are trying to get more rigidity in the chassis. Especially with the absence of strut bar options.

on 2014 models there's no pickup points on the strut tower or frame rails for these...

Well now ...

Potentially interesting note: the M2 has these.

I can't remember if my Feb 2015-build 228i M Sport has them. Will check after work. Do M235s have these? THP-equipped 228is (which may also have rear subframe bracing that regular 228is don't have; still looking into that)?

I'm wondering if these are yet another thing that was added for March 2015-and-after builds (except F23s, which already had all the changes that the March 2015 F22 builds received). Damnation, BMW!
