Surprisingly you can get a used one from the junkyard that's just plug and play no programming necessary. Just make sure the options are the same

You probably have a TCU not a mulf. Also Dension gateway 500s bluetooth. bluetooth phone usb ipod and streaming bluetooth music. Last edited by ctuna; 10-31-2015 at 09:12 PM.. |

You may find it hard to locate someone with one.

They are most known for there Fiberoptic to analog pre amp for the L7 system . It looks like there device runs about the same price as the Dension. At about 600 for either of these they are running almost at the price of a new head unit with nav such as the Dynavin N6. I think that one is about 800 with a L7 adapter. I think I have seen the Dension on sale for around 450 at some sites. |

Do you have iDrive?
For 2006 the BT is handled by the TCU and there is no MULF. Are you getting an SOS call malfunction too? If you just want to restore sound for now, you can remove the TCU from the MOST bus. You can use a MOST termination loop for $15-20 or just reconfigure the cables at the MOST distribution block so the TCU is not in the loop anymore. To restore BT functionality you need to get a used TCU/MULF and get it coded to your car or try an aftermarket solution. You can also upgrade to MULF2 and retrofit 6FL Enhanced USB/iPod support while you're at it.

There is a big Dynavin N6 thread on the audio board
There is a big Dynavin N6 thread on the audio board.
I don't have one but there are plenty of reviews. I just have the pro radio with a cd player but I do have and afermarket amp and speakers but I started out with the Hi Fi system not the L7. http://www.e90post.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=27 Dynavin thread. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1016187 Also are you sure its your TCU that's gone bad and not your amp . Because the TCU usually gives some other warnings or the telephone picture will disappear from the menu selections or won't be selectable. Have you checked your amp area for water? I think if you bypass it on the most loop
I think if you bypass it on the most loop
your sound should come back for the stereo and gongs. Either get a Most Loop jumper or I figure a cut down straw of the right size to point the two fiberoptic connections at one another might work. You might have to depin the connector at the TCU to do this or you could bypass it at the Most Junction Holder under the US Driver side passenger seat Side Bolster. |
