Question on car with no maintenance
I found a 2012 BMW 1M delivered in 2012 Feb which is still under warranty until 2016.
It currently has 600 miles and it was never serviced. Should I be concerned? Or just get it CPO'ed and be a happy man? |

Not even an oil change?
IF you by it, I would change the oil a few times before really driving it. Change it first thing... then maybe again in a week or two. Then do say 5K miles oil change intervals. With only 600 miles it really would not bother me that much. You might need a new set of spark plugs and/or battery. But still... your getting a pristine new car out of a time vault from 2011.

Yeah, I would do a Complete fluid change on the entire car. Tranny, Dif, Engine. You should be fine. Like Dackelone said I'd prob change the engine oil a couple times. Nice pick up!!!!

Damn... that's a no brain-er! BUY IT!!! That's a pretty good price for a 1M, especially considering the very low miles.

You better hurry up before someone finds it. Wow that's a helluva deal. That price is below the original US MSRP so add in the additional warranty and that's still an insane deal. |

Nice!!!
Yes, do the fluid changes as everyone recommends and go easy on it while it's breaking in. 600 miles is half way till the break in service is due. BMW won't CPO it. At least BMWNA wouldn't CPO mine which had 29 miles when I bought it....it needs to show service records over the life of the car. Even if it wasn't driven it still needs to have the "annual low mileage oil service". Not a big deal though. I had the oil changed on mine before I drove it away and then had rear diff, transmission and engine oil done again @ 1200 miles for the break in service. Good luck with the purchase!!
