From the buyers comments... "For 10 bucks its great. It actually has a blue LED light that lights up when you open the lid. They didn't mention that in the description. Heavy thick plastic to contain hot cigars or cigarettes. Well worth the price and looks like OEM equipment for the BMW.".

I once bought a Mitsubishi Shogun which I didn't realise someone used to smoke cigars in (found half a pack under the passenger seat). They used lots of air fresheners so missed it. Every time the car got hot in the sun for the next seven years it stank of old stale cigars. I will never buy a car again that has been smoked in.

I'm a non smoker, I was considering these for use as a space to store items out of sight. I agree with all of what you said about smoke residues in cars.

I am sure I have seen BMW genuine holders like that on ebay, might have been listed for 1 or 2 series though
