M2 South Africa Pricing
Anybody else on here from SA interested in getting there hands on an M2?
Still no price that I can find except some dealers telling me that it will be 51 000 dollars so I can use that to judge (which is just not true is so many ways anyway....). The CLA 45 AMG base is sitting at R720 000 and the RS3 at R710 000 so I think it wouldn't be wrong to guess somewhere around there? |

SA dealers have only had a vague bulletin which doesnt even allude to what options will be standard, my dealer is also anticipating a 5% to 8% price increase in January....

According to my dealer , there is a definite price increase of 5 - 7 % in January.
I have specced a m235i very nicely for R690 000 but if the base model M2 comes here for around 700 000 then I will be very disappointed at my m235i buy. On the other hand, if I can't afford the m2 when the price is released then I will have to pay a lot more for the same m235i. |

Sorry to disappoint gents, but I reckon the M2 will definitely be over R900k. I don't see it being anywhere near the R710-720k bracket.

Base price ( manual) will be around R750 000 (my opinion), give or take R30 000. There is no way bmw is gonna price themselves out of the segment, audi rs3 (4.3 sec 0-100km) base price R710 000 and Cla 45 amg which is getting more power as of jan 16 (4.2 sec 0-100) is R720 000.
I also read a article that said it was expected to be between 700-750k. Last edited by k-jay; 12-02-2015 at 06:37 AM.. |

Also if you use the m235i coupe as a price projection tool. In SA base price is R560 000, in america price is 44 150 us dollars x 14.33= R632 669-50. So at our current exchange rate america seems to be a little higher regarding pricing.
Now it is rumoured that M2 pricing in a america will start at between 51 000-54 000 us dollars, converted that R730 830-00 - R773 820 i am aware this is not a perfect model but i think it does point us the right direction. Last edited by k-jay; 12-02-2015 at 06:48 AM.. |

That is my argument exactly! I don't think BMW wants to loose to the competion by pricing it so much higher than its listed direct rivals (CLA45 or Rs3). My problem is if it is worth it spending 700k on a kitted m235i (M preformance parts making it expensive) or waiting for the m2 for around the a similar price range. Also rumoured to standard with basically everything I put on the m235i.
Also anybody else see that the mustang was just released at 700k base which is also an alternative? (not the V8, to heavy on petrol) |

Also consider that those prices for the rs3 and cla45 are with dct, so to say that the the m2 will come in at manual around those prices is not a crazy assumption.
Personally i would rather have a base bmw m2 for 750k, than a kitted out m235i at R690k. Also i think nav pro is standard on the m2. In bmw i like manual so my options if i order will be long beach blue, sunroof, harmon kardon sound, convienienace telephony, connected drive services R30 000. So im looking at about R780k, coud be a bit less. if its more though it would just make my decision easier and buy an audi RS3. I have always had bmw's ,I had a m235i aswell, and now i have an S3 sedan (first audi ever) and im really surprised how much im enjoying the audi. i saw this after buying the s3 and was a little surprised: |

I have the same idea, I would prefer a base M2 as well... I would spec it standard manual in LBB or SB (can't decide) with a sunroof and Harmon kardon.
I was looking at a s3 but everybody I spoke to said it was boring. Keep in mind that most of these people are BMW bias. |

The price increases for next year are between 1.5% and 5% depending on the model so M2 wont be to far off intial estimates or from current RS3 pricing in my view. It seems out first cars will be factory spec'd cars....

Any updates with regards to pricing guys? I've seen some well spec'd RS3's over the R870k price bracket, and I still maintain the M2 will be around R900k. I hope I am wrong though

Hi All, first post here on the thread but have been following for over a year now. Heart is set on this beast!
Also curious about pricing but still radio silence from BMW SA well spec'd M235i is about R650k so would expect base M2 to be around R750k to R800k. above R900k is too close to M3, you'd be able to get a deal in the high R900s for an M3. R750-R800k base also compares favourably/globally with CLA45 and RS3 pricing Just my humble opinion |

Sane minds would expect BMW to price the car as we hope. I'd be a M customer. I'm 27. So I'd likely be an M customer for a very long time thereafter. My best shot is to hope for an first half 2017 January and stretch the budget. On the exchange rate point, 2016 AMG prices haven't increased as drastically as expected and would have taken into account the R16+ |

No idea where it is going. Emailed my dealership today and will see my other one tomorrow but so far they don't know about it. My SA assumes it's a press car for the launch event. No word on prices yet (so frustrating).
