Dripping Doors

When I got home, I noticed this stuff had dripped out of the doors and down the molding. It was consistent on all the doors, even the hood and trunk. It was leaking out of the inside of the door through some opening (water channel?) It didn't wash off. To get it off I actually had to use the clay bar. It looks like there is more dried stuff inside, but I don't know what it is.

Did you take the car back to the Dealer to have them look at it? It might be
a type of shipping product?

I think it is just the rustproofing that is seeping out of some of the seams and door panels. It is a kind of wax that they fill all the voids on the body panels with. When the car gets hot the first few times, some of this will seep out and it can easily be removed with some warm soapy water and a soft wash mitt or washcloth.

I had it really bad and it comes off. No worries.

I've noticed the same exact thing on mine and every other E90 I've seen on the street. I just figured it was dirty water or something. It's rained everyday down here in Miami so I figured it'd be a problem that would dissappear when the rains stopped. I'm going to check later if it is dificult to remove.

It hasn't rained here in SoCal since we got the car. I could not soap it off, nor rub it off with the chamois after two separate washings. When I got ready to put the wax, I got out the clay bar.

I've seen this on many of the e90's at the dealership. I'm not sure what it is though.

It's a wax for rustproofing that is seeping out from between the panels when the car gets hot. It will stop in a few months.

Dripping Doors

I had the same problem with my new E90, the doors were dripping like crazy and mine's silver so it shows!

Solution, use some dishwashing liquid with warm water and wash immediatly. worked, though might be better and safer for the paint with the claybar.

This is all very strange. So what is the conclusion? How are we supposed to wash this stuff off short of a claybar?

Next time you wash your car, wash the whole thing with whatever car wash solution you usually use. Then use Dawn and warm water, and a nice clean soft washcloth on the affected area. Rub vigorously until the dripping wax is gone, and and then wax the entire car with a good quality carnuaba wax.

Exterior only, your leather should be fine. Did find a bit on the trunk deck as well. Since the intial claying, have not had any more OOZZZEE out of the car, but it hasn't been THAT hot yet.

It comes off pretty easy with Quick detailer and also reg car wash. Don't have to go crazy hitting with all this heavy stuff. I just clayed my car and damn I got a lot of rail rust of the car. I have to do it again though. I think there are some subborn spots that just needs another past.
