I bought the 2016 european map updates and downloaded these onto a new 64gb USB, all from the American seller.
I have got rid of the car and therefore have no use for the maps. They cost me £33 + and the USB was about £25. Happy to accept £50 for both and would forward on the emails with Key codes etc. It took some time to download the 32gb files and copy these across.

Considering that you can download all that stuff for free, your key code is useless to anyone else, and a 64GB drive costs a bit over a tenner, I think you're having a laugh.

I understood that the maps aren't available for free.
So if they are perhaps Tony can enlighten everyone where they can be uploaded for free?
I didn't understand that the key code was specific to my car but for the purposes of the map being accessed as a security key for that software.
i will check on that.
However if the 32gb file is free for anyone to upload, please share this with everyone. I don't need the £50
Can Tony also tell us where you can buy new formatted 64 usb for £10. possibly i paid too much. My problem. But I downloaded all that software and loaded it on.

You are correct that they key is vin specific so i have contacted the seller who has confirmed they will issue another key code for the vin number for the buyer.

Why would an American seller be selling a set of European maps with an unused key code. Obviously the code has to be unique to prevent someone buying a cd and allowing friends to download it and use it. The maps are not the commodity - the key is what's worth the money. You will find the regular users on here are very helpful but they will also act quickly to warn others about a potential scam - whether you are genuine or not - the deal you're offering is risky as the key cannot be verified. My understanding is the dealer sells the map update and registers the key code against the chassis number. Others on here may be better placed to verify my thinking on this.

In fairness to the OP he obviously didn't realise that the key was VIN-specific but if the guy he bought it from is happy to generate a new code then it's still a potential bargain for somebody that doesn't fancy doing the job per kitster's guide.

But it is a piece of piss to get your own map and code - I've upgraded maps three times now.

Only the very latest Del and with a connected drive subscription. Yours should update OTA.
