I don't think it's a surprise but does show a lack of imagination and makes school classes in the regions a bit confused.

There are lots of different spellings of Mohammed - so I guess if they're aggregated it's top (or very close) but not each spelling individually.

Not sure what the paper was as I just picked it up in the Surgery, it was a tabloid though so maybe not 100% reliable

Anyway the most popular boys name is 'Mohammed' (think I spelt right).

Good job I was in the surgery as I nearly had a heart attack

Enoch must be turning in his grave

I thought the most popular first name was Mohammed and surname Patel. So I called my son Mohammed Patel. What could go wrong?

Just call them by their surname!

It's not new, it's been the case for some years now!

Do these people change their names later in life by deed poll?

I know
1 Jack
2 Thomas
3 James
Had a Dog called Oscar.

As for rest nope.

However I know at least 12 Andrews, 10 Pauls, 6 Keith's, 5 Alan's,

As for the rest ???
