Bmw Owners ???
Good morning all,
I've recently been looking to purchase a BMW and I personally don't know many ppl that own, but rather lease them. What are your thoughts? I hear/read plenty of horror stories and I don't want to jump in and regret it later.. Any info you could share is much appreciated, thanks..... |

Welcome, I've owned BMW's for the last twenty years and the key thing is maintenance maintenance maintenance and you should be fine. IMHO I would shy away from the 5's (F10's and 7's as they are massive/overweight sedans that cost a ton to maintain and repair, though the M5 gets a pass ). If you are looking to get a new or CPO BMW then you'll have a warranty and not worry about stuff for a few years. However, if you want to get a BMW that is out of warranty make sure you have a proper PPI (pre-purchase inspection) done and find a good trusty indy mechanic. I use a guy right off of SW 117th Ave who is a BMW enthusiast.

Which dealership? Braman helped me out big time earlier this year, however, be careful of all the 2015 used 328's as they are all most likely former loaners.

Yeah Braman so far seems to be the best option, I haven't gone in just looking at the inventory online. It's a big investment/commitment so I'm trying to get as much info/feedback as possible so it hopefully goes smoothly and hopefully commit to BMW for life maybe lol

Some ppl don't mind but as an enthusiast I wouldn't touch them. The engine/trans most likely weren't broken in well, jack rabbit starts and they get beat on.

Shoot, so I'm basically screwed lol... Either buy new or lease is what you're telling me because how would I know if they used to be loaners or not

Try and find one that is either Sportline or Msport, however, last week I had a brand new 2016 328 Sportline as a loaner haha so you just never know.

+1 If you can find CPO Elite, the way to go. I got the CPO Elite on 2014 F31....5years/75k warranty. When I purchased it had 6500 miles.

Because most people like to get in a new car every two to three years and not have to worry about maintenance/ service costs etc... Also for people who own businesses, it's a better tax write off....
