I have a 2016 435i gran coupe with the m sport option, I want to get coilovers and wanted to see if I have e3dc or not so I can order the correct version, how do I know I have edc, my car does have the 2VF Adaptive m suspension, any help would be appreciated thanks

Muse your VIN and an online VIN decoder. And if you have a button next to your shifter that looks like a damper or not. If yes, then you do. If not, then you don't.

Thanks I did use the decoder nothing came up that says edc, but the m sport suspension came up, and I do not have the button that looks like a damper, but read that if the car has the 2vf option then it has edc, so confused.....

2VF is Adaptive M-sport suspension which has Electronic Damper Control (EDC).

If your front strut looks like this, you have EDC:

In case it's not clear...when you buy mid-line coilovers ($1000-2500) for EDC, you're getting a module that only eliminates the error caused by removing your EDC dampers. Coilovers that actually have EDC, i.e. KW's DDC series, are more like $4K.

sorry but no access to see the shocks, anyone else please can you let me know I do not have a switch by the shifter but do have the 2vf

You can see the rear shock edc connectors when the car is sitting on the ground. Look at base of shock.

Somebody gave you the answer and you rejected it saying you can't do that. There is absolutely nothing inside the cabin that will tell you if you have edc or not.

You mentioned that you have M Adaptive Suspension. That means you have edc. Alternatively, call your dealer/service department and ask. They can look up your VIN.

thankyou so much the rear shock worked, it does have edc, now to purchase the more expensive coilovers
