F30 Forum meets - possibilities - thoughts and comments

Last year there were a couple of trackways, a bit of a how much power day, a how fast can you go, an M4 day (courtesy of Lorcan).

Was looking at karting days for work and noticed they also do group events as well.

Admittedly have not used these before, however seems to be a wide coverage of venues.

So anyone fancy a F30 group day out in 2016, as a change to the usual track day?

It would need to be none returnable deposits sort of thing.

Thoughts and comments?

Location is key, not everyone / anyone be willing to travel 3-4 hrs for a meet I'd think.... but 1-2hrs of the NW yeah for me.

Hopefully we'd all 'click' then we escalate quickly to a drive down to the South of France and stuff

Do you know, I had been thinking along these lines!
First catalyst to this was watching the Evo car of the year vid, got me thinking perhaps I could organise a forum outing to some of Scotlands better roads.
Second catalyst was watching this weeks Landward of all things, but they had an article on the North coast 500, apparently Scotlands answer to Route 66!
Not sure I would go that far but it takes in the roads to Applecross as in the Evo article.
So if anyone thinks this is a good idea........!
Register an interest below and take it from there, would early June suit?

I'm always up for a Scottish road trip and can always tie it in with a visit to friends and family in Perth.

Generally I'm up for most things car related and as most are aware I do trackdays, dyno meets, RWYB etc etc

It's a really good route.

Was sort of a right of passage when posted to Lossiemouth in the 80's lol.

More so actually making it all the way around without running out of fuel or breaking down.

There were not many petrol stations and best you had a tent if you broke down.

I am up for that as would just stop in Lossiemouth.

It's the fucking A9 that is the pain lol.

You well know there are plenty other more interesting ways to get to Inverness than using the A9... Might take you longer mind but fun all the way!

Some fantastic beaches up there as well.

Would be up for karting some time in the new year (assuming I still qualify despite not being an f30er). Clearly I'd have to park round the corner. I'm only thr other side of Birmingham from you, Brigand so can do anywhere vaguely central England.

Not really gone very much further north of here......

Did work in Nairn for a couple of years, and set off to John'o groats one weekend (on A9) first mistake I guess, anyway, got just past Invergordon and thought 'to hell with this' 30mph if you were lucky, caravans galore, so turned round and hurtled down loch Ness and out west......much better!

It really used to befuddle new arrivals, when walking across HAS site and looking up seeing those amazing lights.

It is one of the loveliest places around.

That is in winter or summer.

Have you ever done the B9007, Carrbridge to ferness road?
Used to be a fav of mine, not much more than single track, corners mostly well cambered, some cracking straights, deep into triple digits! No traffic!

Lol that's a fun route, used to do it when going to Kinloss (Forres).

Only problem can be the bloody deer and the odd old dear on a Sunday.

Managed to miss the deer and sunday drivers on that road, but once caught a hare, was in a Pug 306gti at the time, and the front bumper just exploded, nothing left but a million bits, no other damage!

Deer can be a problem on any of Scotlands roads, the worst I've seen was a Citreon of some sort on the A9 with a stag embedded through the windscreen antlers first

We had that, hit a deer in a Merc.

It skidded up the bonnet, smashed threw screen antler cut a mate face just below his eye.

Luckily we all had belts on and it was a big fucking car.

Smaller we would likely have been toast.
