I didn't even know this could be done without opening the hood or damaging the grill itself.

What part of queens lol?

This is what happens now that 17 year olds who think their cool can "afford" e90's, they steal parts. Either that or someone was just hating on your car. Kinda weird to steal one grill.

Glad I have dashcams.

Have the dashcams helped in anyway (specific examples?)? Just curious.

Its not a prank right? I mean how did that happen with no damage... what a bizarre world that person lives in to have needed only 1 grill so badly. Sorry OP. I'd light my neighbors up for info

Nope not yet, but one time the threat of saying that I had one did make someone confess to something stupid (but not damaging) that they did.

Its really just an added measure of safety.

It's held by 4 pins. You don't need to open the hood to yank them out. You can stick your finger in there, bend few pins and pull. 30 sec job.

Hopefully they didn't cause damage to the plastic that holds the grille

Yes, technically it can be done without opening the hood, but you would have to have fairly small hands or very lengthy/slender fingers. Otherwise it will take you quite a while fidgeting and trying to stretch the plastic to a point where it doesn't break but allows enough breathing room.

Seeing as how I'm a fairly 'small person' (5'5") my own hands aren't small enough to do it..

One more thing.. I believe it's 6 pins (for the e92 anyway) two top, two bottom, one on each side (left/right).

I swapped them out pretty easy when i swapped bumpers you just need a good grip and tug firmly..i never broke the pins..next set of grills im going to put gorilla glue all over the pins to make it impossible to get out

I wonder if they made it into a chain and wear it around their neck? Seriously people are ghetto. First it was roundels then tow hook covers, and now kidney grilles.

That sucks.

Am I the only one that's confused as to why they stole just one? I mean seriously, isn't that like stealing just one shoe. WTF good is that?

I guess if its' a "trophy" of some kind, it makes some sense. Its' not like the person that stole it drives a E9x. Maybe he has a E46

....Maybe we should go to the E46 board and look for someone asking if a kidney grill from an E90 with fit an E46. Maybe he's going to test fit it and come back for the other one if he likes how it looks. I mean why buy.... errr steal both, if you're just return it.
