UK Purchase Price / Discounts

Question to UK buyers - have you been getting any discounts on the list price of your new car?

I ordered mine at the opening of the order book (but am still awaiting the delivery of the car as a result of the delay in rear LED lights). At this time I was given no discount on the car. The only thing they threw in for free was the paint protection.

Have any of you been given discounts on the list price / added extras?

Zero discount on the list price. But I got around £1000 overall on a ~£40K final price (including paint protection, accessories, delivery, etc.). I'm sure they will relax the discounts later on. It's never easy to get discounts on factory orders. Specially for brand new models and when ordering a few months before release.

Price wasn't an issue for me. Timing of the purchase was. I'm also planning on keeping the car for at least 5~6 years. So a few thousand Pounds won't really matter much.

Plus, I was 100% sure that the X1 was the car for me. Never liked Q3 and even the facelift version feels outdated now anyway. My dealership experience when I tested the GLA was horrendous. There was no way I was going to give my money to those snobby arseholes. I'm sure I could've bargained easier for the Audi and Merc.

I've been looking into buying a new X1 recently.

Does anyone have any experience using the online broker websites in the UK? Some of them are suggesting savings of around £3000 on the specification of the X1 (with options) that I'm looking at?

Just got £3000 off the new order (xLine25d w/pretty much everything) with a very little negotiation so I think they could be pushed for more.

Sounds like my local M-B dealership. Most of the sales guys give off the impression they're doing me a huge favor by lowering themselves to sell me a M-B. No thanks, I'll go with a BMW again this time.
