H&R springs
Hey guys so I'm planning on getting springs for my 328. I have the oem 17's. I'm asking for your opinions whether I should get the sport or super sport springs. I plan on getting 19's around March? Which would be better in the long run?

Sport. If you do Super Sports you should DEF change the struts.

Super sport will give you a very nice drop. Sport will be easier on the struts. I'm on super sports and get complimented all the time. Everyone thinks I'm on coils. |

Not to hijack the thread but do getting springs installed affect warranty at all?

Yes, if you were to go in for a blown shock or any suspension component. |

I just installed Dinan springs, bump stops, then did an alignment. I was so surprised that the Dinan springs are so compliant with the stock shocks. Quite a significant improvement in handling right after the installation. The ride height is just right without being too aggressive.

Very minimal body roll now. The car feels very "planted" and I have more confidence driving on the same curves or corners.
See below iPhone pic for reference. I am going to add spacers and will do a proper photoshoot soon. |

327cayman - That ride height looks perfect imo. Spacers will give it the perfect stance! Beauty of a car!
As for h&r ss springs, if you have the m perf lip up front, get ready to scrape the hell out of it. I have h&r sport springs and already have a bitch of a time getting in and out of parking lots. Mind you I'm in Vancouver and this city is far from being flat. But yeah, without the front lip, you could pull it off. With a front lip, you might be better of going sport, or the dinan. I dont think you need to align it,.. At least right away.. You should let the car settle for a couple of weeks of driving

Have you checked your tires? Had springs on my last car, didn't get an alignment because I had your mindset, 5,000 miles later I looked one day and my tires had MAJOR camber wear. Just saying...

I just installed H&R sport in my 435i GC X drive. It visually looks high still especially with 12/15mm spacers. Ride is fine with the oem M adaptive suspension. Height is like a RWD 435 M performance. wish it would drop another half inch. After alignment, I have -0.8 negative camber in the front. LOL. |

Thats wht i have been keeping a close look during the wgole time. I even made sure that the tire pressures are within spec and that they are exactly the same on both side (filled up when tire are cold to be more precise). And you know what? No uneven wear whatsoever... No camber wear at all. If you really insist on having it align... I suggest you let the spring settle first... At least a month or two.... But the most important is to have the correct and even tire pressures. If your car dont show the TPMS value, i highly suggest you have it coded, bevause it really helps to monitor the change in pressure from cold to hot... If one tire is getting more warm over another.... I still think you do not necessarily need to align, only if the drop is less than 2 inch.. Anymore, then yes i agree... give it some time. if they are brand new springs, they might settle a bit. You wont likely get another half inch of drop, but any little bit will be better i guess
