335i front brake change question

Just got a set of 335i calipers and brake pads together to upgrade on my 328i. This is my first BMW and I have no idea how to remove the brake pads. Thanks in advance.

Anyone? I'm looking at the front and its held in place by some metal clip over two small poles. Never tackled a bmw before so don't want to break anything.

Well, OEM calipers and brake pades of the US market 335i wont fit to the US 328i brake discs.
The OEM 335i has 340x30mm Diameter brake disc, the 328i has 312x24mm discs or 330x24mm with the M Sports package (P337A=Yes).
(again on US builts with stock brakes. Europe builts 328i always have 330x24mm front disc)

So before taking of the pads, make sure you have all parts that you need to upgrade to a 340x30 mm disc on front.
Do you also have the 340x30mm discs, or just caliper and brake pads?
If your drive currently has the 312mm disc installed, you will also need to replace the "PROTECTION PLATE" to match the disc size you want to install.

F3x brake variants are not just easy...

Full replacement with caliper, rotor, pad, and backing plate. My question is how to take the pads out of the brembo calipers so i can clean and paint it.

The ebrake is definitely a problem. Backing plate isn't the same. Can't imagine it working. The brake bias would be way off too.

There are a host of reason why it won't work and why you shouldn't even try.
Caliper won't fit.
Rotor won't fit.
Emergency brake wouldn't be functional even if the first two weren't an issue.

That's just for starters.
