Dealer brake pad replacement

Going in for service tomorrow, oil and its first inspection, at what mileage did the dealer replace your pads at, I know its such a varied question with a billion circumstances, just looking for a rough consensus. There looking low with 31k on them along with some rotor lip wearing in, 14' 328 M sport brakes, non blue caliper version.

33k miles and they haven't been replaced yet. The service indicator is still showing about 17k.

Thats what I was thinking too, I just dont see how they have another 25k left in them when the pedal feel and initial bite isnt what it use to be and look low.

Maybe your dealer will make an exception if you speak with the service manager or a BMW field rep.?

People tend to over-estimate brake pad wear. Pads aren't that thick to begin with.

Mine originally showed 70k also. Mentioned it to the dealer and they adjusted it based on the remaining pad thickness. Brought it all the way down to 13k and 14k. Now they have climbed back up to 22k. Looks like I'll need to do some hard braking to make sure they get replaced before the maintenance is up.

I have 24K on my stock F30 335i brakes and I'm beginning to wonder when they needed changing, but I guess our brake pads last a long time. (def not on my G37S coupe)

the dealership could care less as I've found out. Been there 3 times before and each time they said nope its fine...its not! it needs to be lubricated or replaced, especially after 2 years...getting aftermarket ones now

I'm beginning to think that too, this isn't my first car and I know what pad and rotor wear looks like lol I think I'll just order a new set of front pads and put them on. The only thing my "prepaid maintenance" has ever covered is wipers and oil. Oh and washed fluid refills. Then with MY17 being 3yr/36k might as well see what other options are out there. I just don't u sweat and how the pads wernt replaced and it now reflects 70k miles for the remaining life

I got my front pads and rotors replaced around 26,000 miles on my 2013 Active Hybrid 3. However, they are refusing to replace the rear rotors and pads even though the rotor looks like shit and I'm pretty sure the full pad isn't making contact with the rotor because there is always a 1" lip on the other edge of the rotor that stays corroded even after long drives and hard braking. The front rotor had a 2" lip on the rotor that looked like it wasn't being contacted by the pad. I'm going to speak with the maintenance manager later today to try and convince them to replace the rear brakes since they're going to have to replace them regardless at some point this year before my maintenance is up.
