428i GC with m-performance suspension
has anyone done this yet? or does anyone know if it's possible to fit? initial research is showing different part numbers between the 4 coupe and 4 gran coupe suspension components (ie struts, springs) so i do not want to take a chance on purchasing at this point. any info is much appreciated, thanks in advance.

Seems to be a question of production date. Just made a quick check on the online catalogue.
- Not for 428i GC with adaptive suspension (SA2VF) - not for xDrive - production date after 01/15 http://www.bmw.co.uk/en_GB/topics/di...ryId=8662.html So you should investigate and clarify with your dealer based on car VIN Code.

interesting
the US site does not even have any listing for m-performance with 4-GC at all whereas the UK does. i'm messaging evan@tischer with my vin as we speak. my gut feeling is negative
yup, bmw doesn't list m-performance suspension for the gran coupe. i have a strange feeling all the components are the same however struts/shocks and springs are different rates/stiffness for the different cars, 4coupe, 4GC, 4convertible, which cause the part numbers to be different... anybody else care to chime in? i really don't want to go aftermarket coilovers but it looks like i may have to Last edited by alohasurftoad; 01-06-2016 at 11:28 PM.. |

your thoughts...
since there aren't any m-performance suspensions for the F36 avail', i'm contemplating getting a m-performance suspension for a 435i (because the 435i coupe is about the same weight as the 428i GC), disassembling and using the top hats, associated parts, etc from my 428i GC to basically make my own m-performance susp using the F32 435i m-perf components.
anybody has thoughts on this? please refrain from the: "try it out and let us know comments"... |

m-performance installed...
still need an alignment. will post pics in a few days. unfortunately i didn't take before pics :
there's nothing like having a long time friend install it for me. i helped out whatever i could but it is a little beyond my limits. it took about 3 hours. the 1st front took the longest. figured out a better way for the 2nd. the rears were much more manageable. here's a pic. m-performance suspension is 10mm lower than m-sport susp. thx. i stuck with 18's because the roads here are so bad. the rears are 18x9 +50 255/40 and fronts are 18x8 +45 w/5mm spacer on 245/40 front on bridgestone s-04's. my original plans were to keep stock tire sizes and i don't like stretched. i later decided on 245/40 up front but it was too late to change the front order to 18x8.5 +35. it took 5 months, i might add. i also wish i went with michelin pilot super sports, which i'll get next time around...

cool. my anti roll bar is stock m-sport roll bar, part of the 704 suspension, i think. m-performance suspension works as advertised. no complaints or problems whatsoever.

Hmm, similar to mine with stiffer springs, roll-bars and shocks, I "made my own" performance suspension.
