Service Indicator Went from 6000 miles to 600 in Two Days?
Just noticed that my "miles to next service" went from 6000 miles to 600. The car says that oil service is needed in 600 miles. I did go to get new wipers installed on Monday. Is it possible they entered some wrong information in their system that would cause the interval to change like that?

I have a 2012 328i, bought "pre-owned." At 21k miles it said 4400 miles to next service. Now, 4k miles later, it still says 4400 miles. I wonder if this alert is supposed to be taken seriously.

That's kind of the opposite problem that I'm seeing. It's hard to believe your counter isn't going down even if you're putting only stress-free 50MPH highway miles on the car. Did you ask service for any guidance?

Interesting situations. My 13 335i is acting like Calypte's car. Got it with 20k miles and it said 11k to next service, 2k miles later it's still saying the same thing.

I'd get that checked out. On mine, iDrive is telling me the oil level measurement has been deactivated. Says I need oil service in 450 miles. I'll take it in next week.

I gave up trying to make sense on the oil change indicator. Brought it in and it is still haywire. It does not go down as the mileage goes up and I even had the dealer check it.
When took back my car, it says 8000km to next service. After driving for a few weeks, it goes to 9000km amd then 10000km to next service. |
