my setup
Figured I'd share my custom alignment and other car setup.
Car: 2014 M235i Wheels: square 18x8.5et47 M441s (5mm spacers in front, effective et42) Tires: 255/35r18 Michelin Pilot Super Sports Suspension: GC camber plates + F8x LCAs other: rolled front fenders (stock external profile, flattened inner lip) I'm really happy with this setup for autocross, track days, and daily drives. Turns in like a beast! Minimal toe up front keeps tire wear manageable, and with the square setup I can rotate front to back. Last edited by rwalker; 01-10-2016 at 12:21 AM.. |

Thanks for sharing this. I'm sure that it DOES turn in nicely. Especially with that much camber up front.
What issues if any do you have with the position of the wheels in reference to center of the wheel well with the different LCA's? I have read in here that it shifts the wheel center around a bit. Have you had any issues with the GC camber plates as well?

The LCAs move the wheel forward in the fender about half an inch. This causes a decrease in wheel clearance, not just in the front, but also at the top, because LCAs move both the bottom and top of the wheel outwards.
I was an early adopter of the GC plates, and start to finish it took almost exactly one year to get them to something workable. GC stood behind the product to the extreme, though. I've got 2 track days and several autocrosses, as well as about 5k DD miles on them now. The only thing bothering me now is clunking at lower speeds on rough roads (an issue from the start). I have not had the problem of axial bearing separation that another member has had. While I was working with GC, I also tried TCKline and KMAC plates, neither of which worked out for me. There were other little niggles, e.g. the supplied mounting bolts were in the way of sliding the bearing/perch, necessitating my sourcing my own hardware. I understand the TCK design has evolved since I tried it on my car, but I don't know if these issues have been addressed. To be fair, it took GC and me almost exactly one year from when I first installed the plates to getting them basically sorted. There are still noises bugging me that I hope the Vorshlag plates will address. Will update once I'm able to source a set. |

I've read that Dinan has solved the bearing noise issues with the camber plates. Is this confirmed that they are less noisy ?
