Don't know about the N47/N57, but my N55 has a diverter valve - not a BOV.

BMWs are luxury (all right, near luxury) and are designed to not make excessive noise. Additionally, they're designed to recycle the air in the system to keep the turbo spinning as long as possible when off-throttle; this reduces the dreaded turbo lag.

If you want noise, buy a WRX.

Yup! Diverter valve, not BOV.

Even an open intake will increase the sound. Having the sound is, at best, nonfunctional. Some people enjoy it, but having the equipment that produces it (vent-to-atmosphere blow off valves) does not increase performance.

i like your sense of humor
funny how you say "if you want noise, buy a WRX" but BMW's MPE almost sounds like any other ricer out in the road

+1

If you want to hear the hiss, get an intake. Even closed box ones like the Dinan will add sound (although this doesn't apply for you since they don't make one for the N20).

Barely ever hear it turbo sounds with N55 and stock intake. Like someone said you have to be in a garage or something with walls to echo it back to you, windows open, no sound system on etc.

I also heard it in my F32 N47. Before I have the PPK Kit install I also heard the BOV sound but not much. After the PPK was installed, I can almost every time I let go the gas instantly.

MPE is a waste of money IMO. Better aftermarket options out there for the price.

I have the Dinan CF intake installed, and it's all I hear when I drive around, that's probably what you would hear, but on the 28i, you won't unless you install an intake.

28i's are extremely limited on exhausts and intakes.

Intake makes a huge HISS sound. I personally love it, on this forum you will see lot of people hate it. If you like it do it. Don't worry about what everyone else would think. I will do a video for you with the intake.

I have the injen intake on my N55 and the sound is pretty loud. You can hear it spool up and all. Not quite as loud as my old 135i with BOV
