How to get these off?

Morning,

Trying to put our plate on the car we recently got, but it has this type of tamper proof fixings! Any idea how to take them off without breaking or damaging them? And can I re-use them?

Here is a couple of photos:

Thanks.

What screw head is visible inside the plastic, or is it two plastic parts clicked together?

Looks like they're plastic rivets, so will need drilling out!

They are a number of different security screws used.

http://screwcapsuk.com/products/12/n...crew_caps.aspx

Probably best bet is trip to dealers or halfords (?)

If you had been closer I have a full set of security bits that are in standard use.

Get a decent torch pointed in there and see if anything is there.

Some are plastic to plastic, some have an internal security screw.

Can't you see the pictures Brig? There's no screws as they are plastic rivets!

No, that's to put the new number plate on after you've drilled out the current rivets.

It appears they're a legal requirement in France!! It's illegal to have your number plate fixed with screws there!

You'll likely need to drill holes in a different position on your bumper for the new one then, or fix it with 3M tape.

Here is a close up with flash, what do we think? If it was rivet, would it not be flush with the yellow part?

Just looks like the rear part of the rivet which is crushed up.
