Optimum Paint Coating (Glass coat) or similar experience

Has anyone tried this? I'm about to have a small scratch removed and I saw the detailing shop offers this "glass coating" for $750 that lasts 4-6 years.

Will this hold up like a clear bra?

It will compliment a clear bra (PPF)- but it is not a substitute. These ceramic or 'nano' coatings are helpful in minimizing the impact of chemical abrasion (bird poop, salt, acid rain, etc.), but not useful in minimizing impact damage like a PPF would.

I had my 1M ppf'd, then coated in CQuartz. http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1217118

Do you still wax it? If not, how do you hide swirl marks?

I did still wax it. Think of it as an additional, charged clear coat that repels dust and water better than the existing.

CQuartz, Ceramic Pro and Modesto are popular, but I've always like OptiCoat best (sadly, my detailer dropped it for CQuartz).

You may notice with OptiCoat that the finish becomes "grabby" almost rubbery in feeling.

I have no regrets when I Opti-Coated my 128i. It will not leave swirl marks if you wash the car properly yourself or by a detailer.

Here is mine holding up after two years and 20k miles.
