*** Details *** PHX & Tucson Group Drive - March 1, 2008

Official Thread for March 1, 2008 Group Drive

If you have questions, concerns or end up needing further directions cause you become separated from the group at any time, feel free to call me. 520-237-9037. Also, please bring a walkie-talkie, it never hurts to have one handy.

LUNCH: Everyone's been asking, so I'll discuss it first. With the numbers of people that will be attending, I thought it might be tough to manage a BBQ, so I've reserved Risky Business in Tucson. Don't worry, I reserved pretty much the entire restaurant and Ben (the manager) is excited to have us and willing to accommodate everyone. Obviously checks will be split. If you are wondering what kind of restaurant this is, it's basically along the same lines of a BJ's/ Chili's/ Applebee's.

Here's their menu if you would like to flip through your many choices; Risky Business Food Menu

The Gameplan:

We'll take the I-60 to the 177 to the 77/ Oracle and meet up at Risky Business with the Tucson crew. From that point we'll do a drive to and up Mt. Lemmon (there'll be plenty of photo opportunities along the way).

9:00 - PHX folks to meet at AJ's Fine Foods parking lot in the strip mall just south of the 60 and Val Vista. (http://www.ajsfinefoods.com/locations.php?ID=15)
9:15 - PHX folks to leave for Tucson
11:30ish - Tucson and Phoenix folks to meet at Risky Business on Oracle and Pusch View Ln (just south of 1st Avenue, 10515 N. Oracle Road at Pusch View Lane)
1:00 - Head for Mt Lemmon. It'll be about a 1/2 hour drive from the restaurant to the bottom of the mountain.
1:30 - Ascend the Mt. Lemmon
2:15ish - Photos / Relax/ Adore snow on mountain
2:30 - Head back down. The Tucson folks will show the PHX folks where to get gas, and we'll give you a heads-up how to get back to I-10.
5:00 / 6:00 - PHX folks should be back at home for dinner time!

Driving Instructions:

1 - Start out going NORTH on S VAL VISTA DR toward US-60E
2 - Make a RIGHT at US-60E from S VAL VISTA DR
3 - Merge onto US-60E
4 - Stay on US-60E for 40 miles
5 - Take the AZ-177 exit toward KEARNY/WINKELMAN/DUDLEYVILLE.
6 - Turn RIGHT onto AZ-177/S RAY RD. Continue to follow AZ-177.
7 - Stay on AZ-177 for 30 miles
8 - Turn RIGHT onto AZ-77 S.
9 - Stay on AZ-77 for go 55 miles (It eventually becomes 'Oracle Rd'
10 - End At Risky Business, 10515 N Oracle Rd (Just south of 1st Avenue, on the West/ Right side of the road)

Total Est. Time: 2 hours, 15 minutes Total Est. Distance: 125

Good call on posting this over here.
Hopefully some other guys from this board see it. Like I said on AZEuros, I'm hoping to make it - just depends what time I get home from work Friday night.

Yeah, I'm curious as well since I didn't make it.
Too damn early, couldn't be gone all day, and my rubber has maybe 5 miles of life on it; so I didn't want to push it.

Doesn't seem to be a bunch of AZ people on here. Maybe they don't know of the site, or more likely that the enthusiast don't have new BMWs.

I actually use to live in AZ (both in Phx and Tus), so it was interesting to see a meet there. The Mt Lemmon drive is phenominal, IMO
