There is a reason our release of this product took us a while. We put in a lot of time engineering and testing what we believe to be a very good solution. One of the advantages of using a large diameter catalyst is that it not only increases the exhaust flow but also the surface area available for gaseous reactions to occur. Additionally, the gas residence time within the catalyst is increased. These factors contribute to better emissions performance. We have datalogged the catalyst performance values monitored by the OBDII system and compared them with the performance of the stock catalytic convertor and a catless DP, we know what the range of values should be and we dialed it in. Our test car has gone thousands of miles with no CEL. On a fully catless DP we are able to trigger it within 5 minutes of driving. We decided it was time to release it to the public so here it is! Give it a try and let us know what you think.

Thank you for replying to my PM.

For the catted dp, do you guarantee there will be no CEL triggered on a stock set-up? What do I do if it happens when I install your catted dp?

When you say 'Our test car has gone thousands of miles with no CEL.' is that completely stock? Have you tested using a piggyback or flash then revert to stock? I'm contemplating my options when it's smog-check time... do you have any insight/recommendations?

We do not guarantee no CEL will ever show up simply because we do not have the quantity of longterm data required to support this from a business standpoint. Due to our design margins we don't expect you will ever see a check engine light.

Our testing was on a 100% stock vehicle, other than our turbo-back exhaust system. If you are using a piggyback that is set to auto-clear codes you will never be ready, same with a flash as far as I know. If you went back to stock, you would need to wait until the OBDII drive cycle was completed.

While we have put in a lot of R&D to this product we have still priced it very competitively in the market and are listing it below MSRP right now. If you want to wait for other customers to post their feedback that is entirely up to you. If you search through the forums, we have a lot of happy customers on here and I'm sure you would be one as well.

I'm already one of your satisfied customers. I've had your cat-back system on my car for over a year. I already know the quality of your product rivals other big-name outfits... and even surpasses a number of them.

My current experience with another catted dp from another vendor is sub-par... so that's why all the questions.

I'm getting your dp soon, I just need to decide to pick the right one for me.

Haha well thanks for clearing that up

If you are concerned about emissions in general I would go with the catted. The performance and sound difference is not noticeable. What is your main deciding factor? If you want to pm me your issues with the current catted dp, maybe I can address them better.

What is the power difference between this and a catless downpip.? Also, price? I am interested.

Too little to be accurately quantified. You are looking at maybe 3-5hp less. It is a large high flowing cat, the difference in hp, torque and throttle response compared with a factory dp feels identical to a catless dp.

We can post price in this thread but there is a vendor thread in the sponsor classifieds.

We have a version for the factory exhaust connection or VS-1 3.5" connection. The VS-1 comes with an adapter flange so you don't have to get the downpipe to run the cat back or vice versa.
