VMR V710 18" for M2

I got an answer from VMR Europe on my question if it would be possible to use 18 inch V710 rims as a winterset on the M2.

The answer :
"I double checked with our technicians -in case the M2 has the same brake as the M3/M4 I am afraid the V710 18 inch will not clear the front brakes, you would have to go with 19 inch at least for winter."

Does anyone know if the front brakes of the M2 are the same as the M3/M4?

Hope the BMW 640M 18's will not be the only ones which will clear the front brakes .

Apex has a few wheels too. So there will be more 18" wheels out there. Look in the F80 winter wheels thread as a lot of owner run 18" wheels there.

Is this the part where I get to rub in the fact that I never require winter wheels/tyres?

Until now, here in Belgium they were not really necessary. But you never know things sometimes change quickly. I also expect some discount at the end of winter, especially on tires. Nevertheless, as long as I don't find the right information about sizes etc., I wil have to wait.

In search of the most proper alternative for the 640M as a winterset, I have to conclude that APEX offers the best alternative. Beautiful concavity with profile 2.
Accepts het OEM roundels and factory log bolts.

I composed the following APEX EC-7 set :

Front : 245/40-18 x 9.0 ET 31 Concave Profile2
2mm (0.1") closer to suspension (negligible)
clears the fenders 2mm more than OEM

Rear : 255/40-18 x 9,5 ET 35 Concave Profile2
leaves 10mm (0.4") more suspension clearance
same fender clearance as OEM

Some doubts about the color, Satin Black or Anthracite on MG.
