Help please! BRAKES

Sorry I'm such a noob at doing brakes and such. I am currently looking at rock auto since they always have the best prices. I'm looking at a power stop brake kit that comes with everything I need I believe. Just want to make sure that all I need is the two rotors and the four pads. The kit only comes with one wire sensor. So does the sensor only go on one side? And will be ordering two of these kits to do the whole car. Also what is the name of the brake pads that don't cause tremendous amounts of brake dust? Thanks!

Ceramic pads are lower dust but don't stop as well as semi metallic until they heat up.

It looks like there is just one sensor per axle per realOEM.com (front is left side).

Some tools to have:
Jack (jack pad for BMW), Jackstands, Torque Wrench, Breaker-bar/Lug Wrench, Socket matching wheel lug bolts, keyed wheel lock socket (if required), wheel bolt alignment tool/hanger (optional), Brake Cleaner and rags (clean the new rotors before installing), rubber mallet for freeing seized rotors, matching socket/bit for rotor retaining screw, matching sockets for caliper bolts and caliper bracket bolts, caliper piston press (or c-clamp with old pad), brake pad anti-squeal grease, gloves.

You could flush the brake fluid at the same time if it's been a while.

It's not that tough, just make sure you have everything you need before starting, and take your time.

That looks like everything you would need. One could argue that replacing the anti-vibration springs is overkill. If the pictures represent what type of rotors you would get, I might reconsider. They look like they would rust up on you really quickly as they don't seem to have any type of protective coating. You could always paint them with high temperature paint if you want them to look perfect but that is a whole other procedure. The ceramic pads are what DON'T dust, but if you are coming from the semi-metallic OEM pads you will notice a difference in pedal feel. ESPECIALLY when the pads are cold. Some people are fine with this as they hate cleaning brake dust, some people can't stand the feel. I have ceramic pads and once I got into the habit of braking slowly and early after my car was cold (to get heat into the brakes), the issue about pedal feel wasn't a problem. Good luck!

Do you need to change your brakes, or are you doing this as an "upgrade"?

Unless you are spending serious coin for a brand name set, you probably won't see a significant benefit (at least a benefit that isn't wiped out by poor reliability) to not using OEM.

My brake pad sensor just turned in this morning and I want to replace the rotors since I'm going to be down there anyways.
