I am forseeing a lot of our youths will be killed by being addicted to this forum. First it was the meets, then the mods, now the Ps3!

I bought PS2+GT4+SteeringWheel 2 yr ago (Riku was aware of this), and I could never get to play it offline more than 5 times, and I lost the game set and buried the SteeringWheel somewhere in the store room ready to be the next item to get thrown away.

I bought the PS3+GT5 yesterday not entirely I wanted to join last night's race ( 'cause I had never knew nor practised at all how to drive a game race car) but also because the added value of Blu-Ray discs playback.
The already dead DVD, HDDVD's recent dead sentence and inmaturity of a value for money Blu-Ray Disc Player/Recorder; so I hoped for the best on this Ps3 investment.
At least, I have my Ps3 as the first HD device now for better utilisation of a recently purchased 42"plasma.

Now, the Ps3 set is the most advanced technology piece of hardware @my home. Amazing how easy it is to use and to link up the net, something I thought it was why I didn't like Ps2.

Did I have fun last night, not bad if it don't count my sore neck!

I probably should get a real 147 to practise before I drive the cyber-virtual version again.

I was looking out for Swift this afternoon when driving, probably not trying to race it but to prepare it from suddenly appearing at your side...

haha, t, I think we are two out of three (four, or more?) recent wet-head for PS3.

Your case is so valid. My story is that I was considering some time ago to get one PS3 just for Blueray Disc playing purpose, as I have already got XB360 and Wii which should be "sufficient" in providing time-killing entertainment to me and my queens.

However, later heard that the overheat problem, incapability of bit-stream, never promised a firmware upgrade to improve in this aspect from Sony, etc, etc. Two months ago, I has turned to check out Samsung's recent player, almost hammer down.

Well, much thanks to all the devils now I think I will "settle" on this Blueray plan.

But anyway, I will need to sincerely thank one of the real devils - Mr. Cool. I was thinking to upgrade my AV Amp for HDMI inputs/outputs. He just enlightened me on using a HDMI/optical fibre combo for PS3 to help me delay the upgrade on my amp, at least can push for one or two more years, which is an added justisfication.

So, now, I can clearly hear my exhaust pipes from the back...

I guess someone who is familiar with the setup workflow, might be able to provide some guidelines to you?

If your Japanese GT5p gameset were a local Hong Goods with a English/Chinese manual (like my Hong Goods Japanese Citizen Golf), you might be able to go through it first.

As I was aware of, not too sure the reason, GT5p Chinese version seems to be quite popular among here? Or is it just another e90postHK standard?

I will adopt the only-Optiical Cable approach connecting the Ps3 audio to my non-HDMI non Stream Audio AV Amp, and connect the Ps3 HDMI video signal directly to the Plasma HDMI Input as an interim solution.

What is your 'HDMI/optical fibre combo for PS3' meant?

It is unlikely I will buy a new AV Amp for sake of just a game, no matter how good the sound effect is going to be. I am not a very big fan of HighQuality home video, renewal of my AV system to any new standards is a big fortune where at the moment I can't see how this money can fit into my other priorities until I have sold one of my two 'real' cars.
Otherwise, the AV System replacement will only happen in 2010 when PS4 is and GT6p were launched.

I will report to your boss you have got all Xbox, Wii and Ps3, how would you be able to get any sleep and working the next day.

t
p.s.
Likewise the US government released US$168 billion back to all tax payers to save the economy. Because of the subprime loans crisis, property is getting lower and some homeowners are now facing the negative net-worth situation just like few years ago in HK.

Plenty of unsold PS3 in US...

Questions:
1. Did you obtain the conference call number and passcode through Playstation?
2. Are we supposed to conference through the Ps3 built-in IP Phone being paired to a BlueTooth headset instead of using our mobile phone airtime?(Since I don't have a home wireless phone and my Mobile airtime is limited)

I am also found the PS3 is the best Blu-ray player for this transitional period. Very low price and frequently updating firmware. One of the problem with Blu-ray is that its "standard" is changing all the time. It was Profile1.0 few months ago, now it is Profile1.2. And they are already planning to release Profile2.0 this summer.

this is my own business conference bridge, so you will be hearing my company name at the initial greeting prompt when you dial in. BTW, if the full version support online voice chat, it will be more fun!
