2016+ BMW 340i/ix B58 Billet Intake - Gains up to 8 whp
This billet plug and play air intake system unlocks up to 8 whp to the wheels from your B58 engine. In addition to the extra power throttle response, turbo spool, and sound are dramatically improved, finally allowing you to hear your turbo spool up under heavy acceleration. The system is CNC machined from billet aluminum, anodized black for a clean look and includes a reusable S&B high flow filter. The OEM cold air intake tube and insulating base remain fully functional. Install takes only minutes and is fully reversible. Install Video

If I'm seeing their dyno chart correctly, and please correct me if I'm wrong, the first dyno run is not stock but using a JB4 on map1. Then they show the gains of this intake on a dyno run marked as with JB4, a downpipe, and running map 2. If this observation is correct, then touting product gain when the testing conditions are not exactly the same seems incorrect. The intake should have been the only change with the car staying in map1 for an actual look at any delta or showing the dyno run on map2 with /DP, first without, and then with the intake. I guess saying a product has "up to" X gain is the way to answer that.
Also noted this is the data being provided by the manufacturer, not Mike.

my point is, you will not gain 15whp from this intake alone.
BMS state 7-8whp from just the intake......

Huh. So Map 1 is the baseline and Map 2 is the "test run" with higher boost, and a downpipe, and the intake. Quite the apples to apples comparison . So again, on the B58, an intake is just another sound enhancer with minimal gains on a mostly stock car. I'm sure at much higher HP levels, an intake will make a difference, but not here.

Bee Pee You are correct the gains from this intake on its own is 7-8 whp
It should be noted that the main advantage of this intake is sound and spool improvement I will change the thread title to reflect the correct gains. We and Burger will both be changing the claimed gains on our websites as well.
