It appears that we all are. We should all get something in the email eventually.

My dealer only gives i3 loaners to i3 owners, for fear that the average gas car motorist will get stranded after depleting the battery. They set me up instead with a 335i M-sport which was kind of cool but ultimately unengaging...although I found the heads-up display utterly mesmerizing. Nonetheless it felt so awesome to get back into the 1M ...

I got an i3 overnight when they turned my brake job into an overnight affair. I went to pick up the 1M and immediately noticed that the rear disks were on the wrong side, the drill pattern in the vanes raked forward. The tech had already gone home, so I got an 13 and he came in to a significant embarrassment in the morning.
We have a Prius (YAWN) as my wife's daily driver since she does about 2000 miles a month carting the kids all over town. Compared to the that, the i3 was a speed demon! I had her take it for a drive and she was shocked. She pulled back into the garage and said "Holy shit!" |

There is an interesting discussion starting on bimmerfest's ask a dealer forum. BMW is mandating a stop sale on any car that is affected by the airbag recall. So if a dealer has a 1M in stock, they cannot sell it until the recall fix is available. They are also implying that dealers will likely not take affected cars on a trade-in as well, because they know they cannot sell them and they will have to sit in inventory. That might be less of a risk for them with a 1M, but FYI.
I'm glad I have no intentions of doing a trade-in for that M2. |
