Did a muffler delete on e92 335!

Hey guys. So I've been debating about whether or not to do a muffler delete and I finally went for it. First impressions, the drone in the car is noticeable for sure (comparing to a stock exhaust) but its manageable for now. I feel that my MPG has gotten a little worse, although I only driven it for one day. Also, after the muffler delete, cold starts I tend to hear a slight buzzing screeching noise.. is that normal?

stock -

muffler delete -

both were cold starts on a day that was about 15 degrees Fahrenheit.

lemme know your thoughts!

And yup.. I need a car wash LOL once the weather gets a bit warmer. Also for those who are wondering, the Tips are 4 inch tips bought off Ebay for 130 shipped, and cost for labor and parts cost 160.

You held your phone wrong. When making videos, you're supposed to hold it horizontally.

Yup. Only when I start the car up tho. The sound goes away after a minute or two

Only thing I can think of is the vacuum line that connects to your mufflers and controls the valves in your exhaust tips. You can disable the vacuum line through a plug in the trunk. A bit hard to explain, but search up the "Golf tee mod" and just follow that.

I had the same problem when I got my Performance Exhaust installed and they didn't unplug the vacuum line.

The sound's actually still there as soon as you drive above 2k RPM, but you probably don't hear it because of the drone LOL

You should get some videos of you revving it and the exhaust note under load, I'm curious to see how it sounds while driving.

Muffler delete sound is nice, the only problem is the drone.
As long as you are okay with it, you should be good

Would never advise anyone to do this, drone on highway is horrible. How do I know? Previous owner did it on my car, I ended up having to buy a new exhaust because i couldn't stand it.

Did a few revs.

Yup the drone is bad, but I got used to it and I think it's worth it for the exhaust noise. It's all preference. Might get a nice PE down the road when I get tired of this.

I just did it on my E90 (VRSF Catless DP's) and the drone is almost unbearble. But after some research it looks like there is a break in period of about 2 weeks and the drone will lessen quite a bit.

I can imagine. I think I will be doing catless dp + BMW PE and a secondary cat delete.

I'm sure it might quiet down a tad, but your ears are probably starting to get used to the noise as well.
