Sheetz E51% ?

I'm starting to notice that many of the Sheetz near me are starting to offer E85, E15 (88 octane) and now what is labeled as E51% minimum.

How does a pre-blended fuel like E51% compare to manually mixing 93 and E85?

I've read that it's premixed with regular unleaded, so if you mix it yourself you will have higher octane.

Do we know what the effective octane would be when mixed with 87? Surely higher than 93, but by how much?

It seems like it could be a nice, convenient option..

My local sheetz has e85 ( but can go as low as e51 ) I test it every tank and it runs between e87-e90

Ethanol is said to have an octane rating of 100-105 if you want to do the math.

Those e blends at the pump are mixed with much crappier, lower octane gas. E50 mix (e85 + 93 premium) and E50 at the pump are not the same. You are leaving several octane points on the table going to the e blend at the pump. Gotta keep on manually mixing unfortunately
