selling car when it isn't registered to you

The current BMW is registered in my wife's name, but I'm looking to sell it to a dealer/WBAC or VT it back to BMWFS. Do I just need to get her to sign section 9 on the V5C or does she have to actually be there in person at handover? She's working and I'm not at the moment so it is much easier if I can handle it all myself.

If it isnt your wifes car why put it in her name?

V5 isn't proof of ownership just the keeper, a receipt of purchase would prove ownership.

I've sold a few in my wife's name, just st get her to sign the v5c once the deal is done.

Just thought it'd be nice for her to have a new BMW in her name. Next one is in my name. Finance always paid by me regardless.
