Lowering M4 shop needed
Can anyone recommend, based on their experience, a shop in Seattle area that is capable of doing lowering springs (ma cht schnell) and alignment on 15M4 with active suspension. I live up north by Bellingham and local shops have not have much experience with these, at least that's the answer they give me.
Any feedback is appreciated. |

BMW Seattle. Alex or Andy? Can't remember but only one guy does the M mods. He will work with you on most things you want done.

I don't have specific experience on the M with them but Actuning in Redmond is highly recommended as an indy shop. I had them do my alignment on my 335i after a coilover install and they were top notch.

Omni Alignment in Kirkland off the 124th st exit. I called a couple "tuning shops" (do bmw's, porsche's etc.) and they said $1200-1400 with alignment plus tax. You provide the springs (not coilover kit, just springs). Omni was something like $840. Anyone will want it 6-8 hours so you have to drop it super early. I asked the others if their price included alignment and they said yes and they send it out and one shop admitted they send it to Omni. lolz.

PM me if your interested. Plenty of experience and work on all my own cars. If you're willing to make the drive I'll do it for $100. You'll have to get an alignment after the springs settle though. Any Firestone or similar is perfect for that. Lifetime alignment is like $125 through them I think.

Thanks to everyone for feedback, I will call-up the mentioned places and see who has the best deal, it's a shame that shops in our area charge more, I was trolling a few suspension threads regarding spring install and ran into some posts where members paid $500 for install and alignment.

Funny, when I called 5 places which were all well respected and known (and some even posted in this thread), they all said about 6-7 hours and 1-2 for alignment. I haven't put in springs on an M4 but put coils on other cars in my garage. I would have thought it would be 4 hours but 3 of the places alleged that with the electric option for suspension it took a bit longer. This along with more things to undo/disconnect/remove than say an older car without all of the intricacies of the M3/4.
I'd love to hear of anyone who has gotten it done in under 5 or otherwise charged for less than 5hrs. As far as alignment I have used who I have used for 6 cars (BMWs and Porsches), never had an issue and they actually fixed an issue when i had installed a fully racing adjustable coilover kit (camber, trailing, etc. everything). Having said that, there are many places that can do a good job on the alignment.

Cohesive Garage in West Seattle lowered my M4 with Active Suspension and aligned it. I don't remember the cost it was 2 months ago and everything is perfect. He has worked on a bunch of M4's.

Another for Noah! He has been working on my E92 and now F82 M4 and has a ton of experience with this car. He is a one man shop and his schedule can get pretty busy but he is worth the wait.
He installed TCK coilovers on my F82 another with a Brembo brake kit and knows the F80/82 platform very well. He doesn't have an alignment rack but you have many options for that around the area. I highly recommend Chris @ Prova Motorsports in Magnolia. |
