M2 CSL / GTS Render

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Hi All.

With the launch of the M2, some of us are already speculating that there will be a GTS or CSL version, like the M4.

The M4 GTS was basically a M4 MotoGP pace car in disguise. So I used the M2 MotoGP pace car bits to convert the stock M2 into a GTS. I've added a carbon fiber roof to follow the lightweight philosophy of the GTS...

Modifications are:
1- Front and rear carbon side winglets (M Performance part)
2- Carbon fiber front spoiler (Custom to the MotoGP pace car)
3- Carbon fiber rear wing (from M4 GTS and MotoGP pace car)
3- Carbon fiber roof (speculative rendering)
4- Lowered suspension (from the MotoGP pace car)
5- Blackened kidneys
6- Darkened windows and windshield

Here are the before/after pics and animated gif to show the transformation.

In the near future, I'll be modifying more bits such as
1- M Mirrors (carbon fiber)
2- More colours for the body
3- Wheels
4- Any other suggestions, feel free to suggest...

Cheers!

Scott mentioned something that would look like a toned down version of the Vision Granturismo, but I will assume that the more potent version of the M2 will be based on the MotoGP car like the M4 GTS... I'll probably be making a wider fender render, but it involves major photoshop work! I think the water injection technology is very simple to implement as BMW has been testing it in smaller displacement engines (3 Cylinder Turbo for the Cooper) so it would be easy/cheap to use it in the current N55T. E-drive would be heavier and more expensive...

So who really knows

Also, why spend R&D to create a water injected N55T, when there is already the S55? That would be a waste of money. Now, I could see e-drive

EXCELLENT WORK!

Thanks for this. Doe anyone think the rear wing from the Vision GT is in any way feasible (similar on the 3.0 CSL Hommage) its once of my favourite visual aspects of the VGT.

Thanks! I do love the Vision Granturismo, but it does not look like a production model at all, much more like a supertouring racing car. On the other hand it's rear wing (similar to the CSL homage) is feasible, but I'm not sure BMW will do it in the production car because of tooling cost to modify the body. The MotoGP wing is more realistic as it is a parts bin already available in the M4 GTS.

Widebody version

Now a subtle widebody version with increased track in the front and rear and revised wheelarches (with increase of the size of the side curtain)... I think this widebody gives the car a nice stance...

First of all, excellent renders as always.

Additionally, I don't even think it needs the wide body kit. Give it the real CF treatment (100-150 pound reduction in weight), S55 engine, ceramic brake option, CF bucket seats and call it a day.

$85-90K USD and it will sell out AND be the best car BMW has made since the E46 CSL.
