Noisy engine at all times ...
Hey guys. My car has this noisy enginesound for a few months now. The engine sounds like it is in hard labour ..... No warningmessage or whatever on the dashdisplay. Last weekend I went to the dealer to replace the A/C-filter and I mentioned the noiseproblem. Gues what ? ....... My engine vibrating filter was broke ...... has anyone experienced this problem with their car ?
Ok they replaced it (under warrenty) and my god what a difference. This problem came sneeking in so I really didin't hear it in the first place until now ... . Did anyone had this problem before ? |

This filter reduces vibrations coming from the engine to the interior/chassis of the car. Believe me, when it's broke you'll notice (after a while ...)

Yeah it does go away once the engine is warm, but when i first turn it on, i swear the engine sounds like an 18 wheeler, and the RPM jumps up and down shaking the car. One time I turned on the car, put it in reverse and the engine just turned off on me. Is this normal? Should i let it idle before driving?

Sounds like the engine vibration damper (which would be a rubber motor mount I would guess - some cars have a gas shock form the motor to the frame to tame vibration, but the 335 318d doesn't show anything like that
