Just ordered GC 440i coupe
Well after weeks of indecision, test drives, discussion with wife, trawling the Internet and visiting dealerships, I've ordered a 440i GC. In the end it came down to a new 440i or a beautiful 640D with 1500 miles on it. But in the end, I decided against the 640D mainly because Mark1966 described it as:
"a wallowy old hector in comparison (to a M3) and best left for those drawing there pension to use for the occasional trip to the golf club" Well actually, the real reason was that after driving the Nissan 370Z last week, I really wanted a petrol engine this time. And also, I will be able to throw around the 440i much more than the 640D. So this is what I ordered F36 440i M Sport Gran Coupe B58 3.0i Carbon Black (which is lovely) Ivory White/Black Dakota Leather Interior Comfort Pack M Sport + Pack Reversing Assist Camera Electric Glass Sunroof Fineline Anthracite Wood Trim High-Beam Assistant Service Pack I considered the following: Heated steering wheel, but I have these things called gloves which seem to work quite well Park Assist, but I can park myself (and the salesman wasn't exactly complimentary about it) 40/20/40 split back seat as the standard 60/40 seems perfectly adequate Adaptive Suspension, I've got this on the 335D but haven't used the taughter setting all that often and I'm sure that with 19" wheels and MSport suspension, it will be fine. And that's it. Good price, good trade in for mine, delivery at around end of April. One happy bunny.... Last edited by jnismith; 02-29-2016 at 11:41 AM.. |

By far the better choice, congrats - better looking, better handling
My planned next motor - once there are a few AUC around...

The 6 pot petrol engine seems to be comin back in popularity, and I for one am a little jealous...

Sounds great - definitely the better choice out of the two!
One note: Be sure that folding seats are included in base spec - they aren't in the F30 or standard 3dr 4 (judging by online info). That would be a nasty surprise! |

I would, but the current 335d and the 330e on order will suit our needs well. I will hopefully buy a 6 pot petrol of some kind as a weekend toy later in the year though.

The 60/40 rear seats are standard on the GC.
Go for the parking pack...I can park myself too, but its only a couple of hundred quid more than just the camera, and its a great toy! |

I've same thoughts about the lighter colour seats, sounds like they will clean up ok as long as you look after them. Rob
