F30 xDrive Lowering Question
Hey guys, so I'm planning on lowering my car with coilovers enough so there isn't a wheel gap. I want something that's comfortable to drive and is mainly for the streets, I don't plan to track my car. I have a 2013 F30 328i xDrive Sedan and I've done a decent amount of research on coilovers. There isn't many options for coilovers but I picked the BC BR and KW V1. Also I was recommended KW Street Comfort and Scale Suspension. Has anyone had experiences with them or know someone who had any experiences with these? Also what would you guys recommend or have and absolutely love? I want to make sure I'll be satisfied with my purchase before I buy. Thank you guys!

I have KW V1 on my xdrive and think it was a lot better then my factory one and got the wheel gap to go. The ride quality is more sporty then the m sport and a totally different from normal suspension.

I purchased the Bilstein PSS, so not fully adjustable damping, but adjustable height. I paid 1069 just yesterday. I'll have before and after photos soon.
The cost of the PSS are about $100 more than H & R sports on Bilstein sport strut/shock Last edited by BlkBimmerGuy; 03-02-2016 at 01:58 PM.. Reason: Redundant info provided. Info removed |

Before and after shots. The sun was ferocious so please forgive my attempt at blocking the sun in the first "after" shot.
Ride quality reminds me of the old E90 335i sport pkg I had, but not quite as stiff. Handling is superb. I no longer feel like I am pushing my cars limits. I discern a very small bounce to my car I did not have before, the I lowered my car bounce. But it's so minor that I'm thinking it's the tires. IDK Coming to a complete stop so far has produced an odd feeling for me of squishiness once the vehicle comes to rest immediately after it comes to a complete stop. Likely cause could be my donut looking tires. Straight line driving is pretty good I must say on comfort, not a rough ride by any means. So 40 and 35 series stag tires should be next on my list to complete the performance upgrade on handling. Again, I have Bilstein B14 Adjustable ride height coil-overs. The dampers are non adjustable. |

Update - The ride, handle is fantastic. My issue is with my tires, so I give these Bilsteins a thumbs up. My x-drive had absolutely zero sport, plenty of body roll, and no road feel. I am now rolling as if I am in my old E92 10' 335i w/sport pkg suspension. You totally feel the road, and there is near zero body roll, so you can blast out of turns. I like my rides taught and very active, and this suspension seems to have a great balance without being hard on you.
So far, so good. I'm happy and would buy these again. Last edited by BlkBimmerGuy; 03-09-2016 at 08:10 PM.. Reason: Correction |
