JB stage 1 question

so i just saw the install guide for the JB stage 1 and it is super easy. I'm not trying to go mod crazy like i did on my last 335 as I still have 40k miles in warranty left and might as well not ruin it with an accidental turbo break or other big issue. So really, I'm just going for a little more power and a little more noise. I have the VRSF exhaust and was going to pair it with catless DP so would the JB stage 1 support just downpipes? (will be putting CP on just for maintenance purposes) Thanks.

EDIT: I guess what I'm asking is while I get the light popping up for going catless with the JB stage 1 or is it only the JB4 or cobb that cancels out the CEL light.

You would only be an intercooler away from being full bolt on, so why not just get a stage 2. I understand you're trying to be conservative, but a catless dp is barely worth the trouble (emissions, warranty, install) unless your running higher boost. You can also just run lesser boost with a stage 2.

As much as you may think you aren't that deep, with downpipes you are fairly too far gone for warranty purposes.

Unfortunately I don't have the answer to your question, just wanted to give you another perspective on your mod path.

I went the other route and got a JB4, but kept the stock DP for warranty purposes. It takes 20 minutes to take off the JB4, not a huge deal. Just take it off before a dealer visit and your car is then 100% stock. You will also get more power with the JB4 vs JB1/DP combo.

I think I'm just going to hold off and wait for a Cobb v3 so I can just get a protune eventually because I feel like I will end up FBO one way or another

Stage 1 will not suppress the light

The Jb4 is a much more advanced tune anyway

Only JB4 will cancel the CEL as it has CANBus access.. The Stage1 is a basic tune and will not be able to clear the CEL for you.
