US allocations
Has anyone been contacted by their dealers for their allocation order? I am 3rd on my dealer's list and have not been contacted yet. I do know that one of my local dealers that did not take deposits or build a list has received an allocation to order a vehicle. Any idea when the first set of allocations will be released?

I was contacted today. I'm told I'm first (after launch car) and the car enters production 4/14.

No. He said not yet. I asked if that would come on 4/14. He said should be sooner, but was not certain when.

Seriously considering putting in an offer for an M3. I am worried they won't give my deposits back since I technically signed a buyers guide committing to purchasing the car.

"The second thing I want to mention is that your build week is actually the week your car is scheduled to FINISH production. So, it should start production a week or two before the build week." We might not be sol quite yet. I think once the dealer gets the official allocation they should know that production date. |

Several of us in Canada have ours already and no date assigned (looking like late May production, July delivery), so if you don't have a production number, chances are it'll be after that. Really wish BMW would be more upfront about info on the M2...I guess it is a limited model for now. |

Especially for the largest M market, where they have been showing off the M2 like crazy. BMW may be focusing on US spec M2's in April, or at least I hope for the RS Touring trip!

Since April 16th is a hard date that has been out there for awhile. Is that date feasible if no one really has a production number yet? How long does it take to get from farm to table??? IS @ 36 days possible???????? That seems really tight to me, no?

I was told, again with no way to verify, that my dealership's experience is about 50 days from production begin to arrival at the dealer. Take as input, not as fact, as I cannot substantiate it.

I'm 6th at my dealer and have been told to expect early to mid 2017 delivery. So from that I would assume they are expecting about 4 allocations a year?
I've never actually factory ordered a car (the M2 will be the first) so not really sure how the whole allocation and timing works but thats my educated guess. |

Sounds about right. The dealership itself isn't very large but it's one of the largest moving ///M dealerships in the nation. Which I'm fairly sure is what the M allocations are based on.

On the other hand, you should not complain too much, at least the US is getting a lot of cars first. In the home market (Germany) even orders done in October 2015 will only be delivered in October 2016 or later... |
