OSS Designs

All,

Kind of a desperate plea, does anyone know or work with the folks at OSS Designs? I want to have work done on my headlights but I get no response from the the sales@oss email address, I even popped a message onto their Facebook page. Challenge is, I have a mate travelling to the US in a week so its the ideal opportunity to have him take the lights with as it limits risk of them been damaged and saves me shipping fees. If anyone could ask OSS to check their mail and respond it will be greatly appreciated.

I've worked with them before, and their Sales person just sucks at responding.

Turnaround is about a week and you have to schedule many, many weeks in advance.

Be cautious on the quality of work.. From a satisfaction score, I'd say I was 6.5 out of 10.

Thanks for the response, what work did you have carried out by them?

I have worked with them as well.

On availability I would give them a 1 out of 10. They are very busy.

As for quality/workmanship I would give them a 10 out of 10.

Keep trying their email. I would bombard them with messages lol.

I've been monitoring them for a while now, but scared of ruining the headlight because of the potential inadequate sealing and causing the fogged headlight issue.

Any thoughts from those who installed these years ago?

Statistically speaking headlight issues are "all" caused by simply opening the back cover to replace bulbs etc.

Also interested in headlight opening techniques; I've seen DIY vids that cut the plastic of backside the headlight with a soldering iron (and later kit/glue it), I've never seen any video of someone opening at the seam between glass and the plastic housing.

Wonder what technique OSS uses? Can any customer confirm?

Yeah, keen to hear feedbacks from OSS customers. Are your headlights still going strong? And for how long?

The hot knife is usually a fast way to open up lights that are very difficult or impossible to open.

BMW use their dreaded 'permaseal' glue to seal E8x headlights and it's a massive pain.

I've been successful in opening them by trimming the overlapping seal halfway and then using a bent L shape knife tool to cut through and separate the permaseal from the headlight lens.

OSS and other big name retrofitters would use hotknife as a last resort i'm assuming, just a lot cleaner to unseal them and reseal them.
