Who got their car replaced via "Trade-Assist"...

I have a lease and it needs to go back. They have agreed to give me another car, but I will know more by next week.

Were there any fees to BMW associated with replacing your car thorough Trade-Assist?

Thanks.

What do you mean as fees? I lemon lawed an infiniti a few years back- it is long and drawn out- deposistions and everything. took about 1 year, but i did get everything back- it was like driving a car for free for a year. First try to work with the dealer- if i had to do it all over again i would have avoided the headache and just sold the pos. to be honest, it was not worth my time (and yes, it takes a LOT of time and effort)

The dealearship has agreed to replace my car or refund my money.

I just wanted to know what to expect when I go talk to them in person in a couple of days.

I have a bad brake sensor they can't seem to fix.

My car is a lease.

They should take care of any fees associated with you obtaining a replacement- if they have agreed to replace your car. The only thing might be a transfer of plate or something but thats it.

You need to find out the law in your state. Your rights vary, and so does the money which the dealer has to cover. For instance, in some states they must also refund you the vehicle insurance for the unused portion of the term! Any taxes might also have to be reimbursed. Do NOT expect them to volunteer any of this info to you. Find out the FACTS in your state!

Shouldn't it be a good thing not a lot of people have had to lemon their car. It'd help to know what state you are in.

I know if Cali if you lemon your car and want your money back they do some calculation on how many miles you have on the car and refund you the cost of the car minus the amount you've driven.

From the title of this thread I thought that either:

1- You were asking if anyone had ordered the Lemon Leather interior

or

2- You were asking if anyone uses Lemon Pledge to clean the wood trim.....

Never mind.....

I had to do this.

It didn't go through the whole lemon process because BMW bought my car back before that happened. Search the forums for "trade-assist". There are some good descriptions of the process already out there.

If you live in CA, and do take it through a full lemon process, then they have calculation for usage charge. I think it goes like this:

Refund = (Total of everything you've paid so far) - (Current Mileage/120,000) * (Total of everything you've paid so far)

So if you've put in 25K (download payment, lease payments, whatever), and have driven the car for 10K miles, the calculation would be:

Refund = ($25,000) - (10,000/120,000)($25,000)

In this case you would be charged $2083 for usage, and would get back about 23K.

Hope this helps.

Thanks. We won't be going throught the lemon process because BMW has already agreed to refund or replace the car.

I want another car, since I love the 335. I wasn't sure what that entitles.

I will find out more next week from the GM.
