New 1M Akrapovic switch supports smartphone switching

Came across this not so recent press release from almost a year ago that also includes the 1M Akrapovic valve switch, where the wireless receiver can be upgraded to support smartphone app switching when using the
Akrapovič Sound Kit P-HF878

For a while now the 1M Akrapovic exhaust was rumoured by (sneaky) dealers and the like, to stop production. But as the legendary status of the 1M continues, apparently Akrapovic wants to remain part of it. Per March 2016, the 1M line up still has active promotion status on their website for full line-up except titanium tips. The preliminary hard facts meanwhile have been corrected to:

Power +7.8kW @5850 rpm
Weight -8.7kg
Torque +16.1Nm @3090 rpm

The original quoted weight reduction and the updated version are worlds apart.

I love Akra stuff, have a gorgeous full titanium system on my RSV4, but it's just a shame it's so damn expensive for the 1M that I can't justify it. At least you see it on the bike

Hmm the wireless system already works fine, but the receiver can lose connection for a moment. always works when I press it of course. I think pairing it with Bluetooth would be more reliable, but it's an academic difference. The cigarette lighter mount of the original is also very stealthy!

I just ordered an Akrapovic slip-on with the new wireless system or sound kit as they call it now, I will report as soon as I install it!
