BMW celebrates 100 years. We trawl through the back catalogue for the best bits
2011 BMW 1M Coupe One of the more modern BMWs that nonetheless is keeping pace with the second-hand market, used 1Ms with 40-50k miles are making the same as they did when new (£40k), if not more. Launched in 2011, it’s a lot of cash for a 1-series, but with a twin-turbo 3.0-litre straight six and 335bhp, it was not only the first of the M cars to make use of turbocharging, but a raucous drive thanks to a proper limited-slip diff and manual ‘box. Thanks for the link. Good to read about all the cars on the list. The 507 is gorgeous. Never knew they made a V10 M5 wagon...it never made it here.

The CSL was planted to the road the 1M is a little skippy.
1M torque is fun but the traction control is poor better with it off. The 1M is easy to tune so i think it would have the csl on the straights, But the 1M would not stay with a CSL on the twisty roads. The CSL at 174mph and its glued to the road no bonnet lift unlike the 1M The CSL Noise is fantastic The CSL was getting old and parts were getting hard to get a member of my website waited 2 years for bmw to get him a new engine. |
