Stock tire life? Bridgestone Potenza S001s
What kind of mileage is everyone getting out of their Bridgestone Potenza S001 summer performance tires?
I just hit about 22,500 miles on my rear wheel drive 435i with the staggered tires. Front tires are shot, but the rear tires don't seem nearly as worn. |

Almost 20K miles on my vehicle. Front and rear tires remain in excellent condition. I will replace them at 25K miles regardless. Despite being RFT, I like Potenza S001 tires. The road noise does not bother me.

I literally came here today to ask a similar question. I just hit 30,000 miles. This is with about 15K on the summer tires since I have dedicated winter tires. Front tires are becoming shot, rear tires look great. Brought it to the dealer because of subtle pulling, and they agreed front tires are nearly worn (put out a caution, but not an ASAP replace). They recommended replacement, but I'm wary to put the same ones on! Only difference is that I have xDrive. All input is appreciated. |

Any updates on tire choices? I'm still apprehensive about doing a non RFT but overall I think options are pretty limited.
I'm steering clear of the pilot super sports since it seems like you can't find replacements anywhere. |

I bought Continentals DWS and they were absolutely great. I gained a huge fuel mileage boost (went from 7.7-8.0L/100KM to 6.7-7.0L/100KM highway) and quiet, comfortable as hell. I've put about probably close to 30,000 miles on them, and still have about 75-80% tread left. I believe they updated the DWS to DWS06 now, and they're even better. |

Do some doughnuts, burn some rubber, get better tires

Or you can just get 1 extra front rim for the 19s as your spare. You can always put the narrower front rim on the back as a donut until the wider one is fixed. |

That's way too heavy. One of the best mods to do to your car is to reduce rotational mass. |

There is another option available. Michelin Pilot Super Sport ZP (for Zero Pressure). Best of both worlds. Have anybody tried?
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....Super+Sport+ZP I have the S001s too and I think that I will change for Michelin (Pilot Sport Cup 2 on the front, Pilot Super Sport on the rear)... Cheers... |

Anyway, I'm thinking about getting rid of my Potenzas after only 1500 miles, they are too noisy. Thinking about the PSS. |

But on the other hand 245/40-19 would have given 9 mm extra sidewall height compared to OEM size. |

I plan on getting a set of 19s and will most likely go with MPSS is OEM sizes 225/40 and 255/35. I have xdrive and am on a lease so I just want to make sure I don't give myself any issues with different sizing.
Really am torn between these and going with Potenza runflats because my wife drives the car with our kids and hate the fact she would have no spare. Very annoying. |
