Anyone driven an i8 ?

Tomorrow morning I pick up an i8 until Monday lunch and have no idea what to expect.

Any tips or pointers on the i8.

Probably a good job that since the 4th of Jan I have today lost exactly 3 stone and being 6ft 2 is probably not going to help.

I am sure it will all come together once I get shoe horned in

Won't that partly defeat the purpose and results of having/benefitting from a fully charged battery for the start of each day/trip?

Probably, I plan to go on a gentle eco spin but also to unleash the electrical power on another run which I have been told if you drive it hard it tops itself up off another small motor ?? I am not too sure but will no doubt learn more in a bit when I go and collect it in a few mins.

I was offered the opportunity, to drive the i8 due to the dealership cocking up my service etc on my last motor.

Sadly never took them up on the offer as i thought & knew it wasn't something i would drive.
From what i've read i haven't missed much

I was lucky to test drive the i8 after test driving a used M4 DCT while waiting for my car to be serviced (took them 4-5 hours for some reason to install my dinan intake and do a oil change, so I asked the SA that I knew there for a joyride )

The i8 is really, I would describe, futuristic. It's quick for what it is (surprised me when I saw it's 1/4 mile time online after I drove it) and it's a really nice daily driver, would save you tons in gas.

Anyone doing weekend rentals?

Great car nearly got one getting in and out is easy once you get hang of it. Even the kids fitted in the back and the design of seats mean they did not even need boosters.

Main problem for me was the ride its very firm and after a 24hours of driving it my back reminded me of that for a week

Still a great car and a brilliant drive.

I just spoke with my SA who I happened to develop a nice friendship with, and he was cool with his boss, and his boss allowed him to let me take the M4 and i8 on a little joyride

Just be good friends with your SA.
