Exhaust Tips

Hey guys, so I think I'm going to stick with the stock Exhaust system.

How easy do you guys think it will be to find aftermarket exhaust tips for the M2?

I just want to increase their visual size, and might buy black ones.

Also, would it be impossible for me to gloss black wrap my own roof?

Cheers!

I'm sure finding aftermarket tips shouldn't be an issue, it's whether the stock ones will be easy to remove, it will be good if they are like the stock ones on my old 135i that just pulled off.

I'd leave wrapping a large prominent area like the roof to the pros myself.

Well one of my buddies who actually assembles the satellites that my company makes said he'd help me out. He's a manufacturing engineer, so I'm hoping he'll have the magic touch

Already been looking at refinishing mine with some high temp black chrome paint. I too am not looking to get an aftermarket exhaust. This comes after having a BMWP exhaust on my e90 and my e82. I love the BMWP exhaust on both cars but frankly am not loving the M2 BMWP exhaust because of cost, lack of power benefits, gimmicky remote and associated possibility that something could break with the electronics in it.

I am also considering to stick with the original exhaust and I think the sound is awesome.
Additional tips would be one way, since I do not fancy the chrome tips. Should be just to pull of as normal.
Any advise on tips?

The right stock exhaust tip on my M235i fell off while I was driving. Hopefully the M2 tips are welded not just stuck in. Quickly found some cheap aftermarket tips to replace them quickly and it looks solid.

But if they were welded on, then there'd be no way of changing them without changing the entire exhaust

I wouldn't have to change it if they didn't fall off in the first place. It's embarrassing for a BMW to have the exhaust tip fall off.

Wrapping the roof is pretty easy, not a lot of contours to deal with. Material cost shouldnt be terrible so if your game give it a shot. There are plenty of videos online to see how it is done. I wrapped the interior pieces of my e90 with CF wrap and found it to be pretty easy to work with and of course that was dealing with many contours. Worst case is you don't like the result and peel off the wrap and have to eat the material costs.

Yeah, I was just trying to figure that out. I really like them and would definetly go for these and the stock exhaust.

Order here. They are Cyba tips. Need to make sure they fit the M2 though.
